Beaches in Aruba:
Sandy Shores & Sunny Vibes

All beaches in Aruba are PUBLIC BEACHES!

On the west side of the island, you'll discover stunning aqua blue waters and soft, white sandy beaches with notably calmer waters than those on the east side.

However, the east side offers a wealth of unique experiences, such as exploring cool caves, visiting the national park, trekking through rugged and rocky terrain, marveling at natural bridges, and witnessing the power of some seriously rough waters!  It's important to note, though, that due to the rough water conditions, I don't recommend swimming on the east side of the island.

Please be sure to take care of the beaches when you are visiting

Pick up after yourself and throw garbage away!!  This is a MUST!

PRO TIP:

Bring your own snorkel gear so you can beach hop and not worry about having to rent equipment and share with other ppl.

Please use Reef Safe sunscreen, which is sunscreen without oxybenzone and octinoxate.

PRO TIP:

Bring your own sunscreen, it's expensive in Aruba!

Go early, before 9am, to score a palapa for shade

Most of the major beaches will have chair and umbrella rental and facilities

(Arashi beach, Palm Beach, Eagle Beach, Baby Beach)

Beach Chair and Umbrella Rentals!

If you are staying at a hotel and want to rent a car and beach hop, but don't want to have to worry about renting beach chairs at every single beach?  Reach out to Coconut Rentals!  They have chairs, umbrellas, water hammocks, coolers and more!  They will deliver and pick up everything so it's no stress!

Palapas, those charming tiki huts dotting the beaches, are typically free and available on a first-come, first-served basis.  However, things get a bit murky in the resort areas like Palm Beach and Eagle Beach.  While the beaches themselves are public and the palapas technically free, resorts often place their own chairs beneath them, charging guests for their use.

So, if you, as a non-hotel guest, park yourself under one of these palapas with your own chairs, technically, it's allowed.  But, if a paying guest has reserved that particular palapa, tensions can flare. It's best to steer clear of these situations and opt for rented shade and chairs elsewhere on these beaches to avoid any conflicts.

Let's talk Palapas!
